Some of you may also be interested in knowing that MBNA long been a major Bush contributor (google "bush mbna contribute"). Bringing in record profits, the credit card industry last month successfully won Bush's signature on its long-sought bankrupcy restriction bill. I received my nastygram from MBNA the very next day.... it would have been incredibly ironic if it weren't entirely predictable.

What must be the thought process at MBNA?

"We're raking in money off of predatory interest rates and fees; our dream bill is about to become law... the perfect time to tighten the screws on the peasantry a little bit tighter."

So at least Republicans can take comfort knowing that their fees and points are going to a good (ahem) cause. Dems and indys may want to quit MBNA and quickly.
