Great point! Another question would be, how was the ticket purchased? Many other travel websites, and I assume Travel Agents, will allow you to choose seats in the "Premium" zone, but give you a warning that you need to hold elite status to select that seat. If you are not qualified to sit in that seat based on status or fare paid, the system will sweep you out to a seat you are eligible for. If that's the case, I'd be glad the system picked 27C for you! (Well, unless your on a 734!)
