A while back CO gav me a day room at the Villa Malpensa (because the facility they use as an arrivals lounge was closed). The property is very close (less than one km from T1). Beautiful public areas, the rom was basic but clear and the shower worked great (as did the air conditioning on a very hot August day). I didn't eat there, so I can't comment on the food.

Just as an FYI - one alternative, if you or anyone else are staying at a hotel in the center city for the night before deaprture, the Malpensa Express train, whic does not run its first train unitl 05:57, runs two early busses from Cadorna Station to T1. The first departure is at 04:20 arriving at T1 at 05:10, and the second is at 05:00, arriving at T1 at 05:50. These are nonstop runs - no intermediate stops are made (traffic should be minimal at that hour)

(Note: Cadorna Station is *NOT* the Central Station (Statizone Centrale), Milan's main railroad station).
