There are two staff members working the First Cabin actually serving the passengers. The First Class purser and the "A Bird". Each deals with one side of the cabin so you won't find that either side is served before the other.

You will find that the staff in First are very keen to ensure that you can maximise your rest onboard and therefore, should you mention that you wish to eat as soon as possible, the staff will often get your meal in to the oven before take-off, ready to switch it on immediately when in-flight.

I've personally seen people come on a flight and I've had them fed and watered within almost 40-minutes in First, which is pretty quick really (for a three-course meal plus wines, breads etc).

Just be sure to mention your intentions while you're being seated and given your pre-takeoff bubbles and nuts.

As for the best seat in the cabin, I would imagine (having sadly never had the pleasure of travelling as a passenger in First) that a seat at the front of the cabin would be best. You're away from the galley (which can get noisy, as you have both First and Club running services from there) and you don't have the traffic of crew and passengers coming past you to get to seats further forward than yours.

If you can switch to row 1, I'd say you're laughing.
