Maybe it was my experience recently at a family chain restaurant where my salad had a piece of latex glove in it that made me think it was odd. The discussion at the table at the restaurant was:

Me: Is that a piece of balloon? (poke poke). It looks like it is. I'll ask the manager. Uh, excuse me, there's a piece of balloon in my salad.

Manager: Oh, so that's where it went! It's not a piece of balloon, it's a piece of rubber glove that came off in the kitchen and we've been looking for it. We'll give you a free dessert okay?

Me: No thanks. I think I will just leave and find some other place to eat.

I always think of that whenever I see someone wearing latex gloves.
