This isn't that puzzling. Walking around barefoot on a plane is done voluntarily and frankly is unsightly and smelly. Having to use the bathroom is a quite normal function. How can anyone compare the two? Airlines should have some kind of spray but knowing some passengers these days, they might swipe it.

So what can you do about the odor in the bathroom? Not much unfortunately.
