Not sure exactly what is happening with CO FAs but something sure is --- I've noticed a change during the past several years.
Some of the attitude problems might be on account of "flight" fatique. The FAs try to get as many hours of flying in a short amount of time --- and after 3 or 4 round trip trans-atlantic flights they are worn out and then the attitude appears.
I have also experienced (even flying in BF) where there are no FAs in the cabin for over 2 1/2 hours --- they are behind the galley curtin "resting" or talking to one another --- and this is in BF.
Another factor is that CO has expanded greatly in the last several years and many of the "quality" issues are not addressed as they "need" every FA they have --- Inflight Service Managers have even discussed this issue with me during the flight.
