Your complaint is completely valid. He was rude for no reason. Yes YOU SHOULD EXPECT HIM TO RUN BACK THERE AND GET YOU A DRINK; after all, isn't that part of the job he gets paid to do? If you do not get a satisfactory response from CO, try calling 1800-WE-CARE2. It cannot hurt, and may help.
By the way, if this happens to you on another international flight, politely say "well, if you are not willing to do this, perhaps the inflight service manager would be, may I speak with him/her immediately?". I am sure you will get a response.
