As I previousely posted, this situation happens a lot... The temperature control sometimes is wicked on some planes at some time, target temp jumps up and down without anyone touching it, and if the target temp is adjusted more than a few degrees the machine will quit all together, that's why sometimes FAs have hard time to adjust cabin temp. Hope if there is pilot or mechanic on this board can explain why.

As to the cool galley, there is usually several wall built-in chillers blowing cold air from the wall into carts to keep food cold, this air also leaks thru the space between carts and wall into the galley, and there is no temp control for the galley (except 777 floor heater), that's why it's usually freezing in the galley during long flight. This is the best place to escape to when it's hot in the cabin...
