If I make 1K this year, it will have been largely on my own $$; I can probably thank my company for 2-4 transcons a year, but they're not guaranteed to be on UA (I have to schedule / choose airports to make UA price out the cheapest--so far I've succeeded). The rest of my segments--if I make 1K, it will be on 100 segments--are for my own leisure, some business (travel related to managing a rental property I own), and a few MRs.

If you were 1K for several years, I suspect you're close to Million Mile status with UA? Personally, I think I'd be content to have the lifetime *G status and would cut back on the MRs
