"CANNON AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. (AP) - Six illegal immigrants who were arrested following an emergency landing at Cannon Air Force Base are being processed by federal immigration officers.

Base officials called immigration officers after determining that Brazilian passports belonging to the six were suspect. The six, including two girls and two women, were arrested and taken to Carlsbad for processing."

They were evidently heading from Fullerton, CA (go CalState!) to Atlanta in a privately owned Cessna and declared an in-flight emergency because they were running out of fuel. ATC cleared them to land at either Cannon AFB or another regional airport...they chose the base. Cannon Force Protection notified OSI when they saw the Brazillian passports which looked "odd" according to a base official. OSI turned them over to Homeland Security & ICE.
