As the weather gets warmer, so will our apartment especially during the day when we are not home. I already see that my shea butter is getting softer. Should I be concerned? Should I put it in the refrigerator during the day?

I actually wait for the pure shea butter to get a bit softer in the warmer weather. It's a pain to have to get it out of the tin when it's cold. It's like hardened lard (butttt ohhhhh sooooo goooood).
I wouldn't be too concerned. Keep in mind that since it's a mostly natural product, and shea butter is actually a nut product, it can get rancid after a while. The pure shea butter will do it faster than the lotions with varying percentages of shea. I've had a little tin go rancid on me - good thing it was almost empty. My mom got a bad bottle of the shea body lotion once. These are exceptions - the stuff usually doesn't last too long around our houses
