Absolutely correct. Please allow me to clarify what 'the list' looks like. There are the first 6 characters of your name in the following format: L L L L L F . So, should your name be Larry Kellner the list will show 'KELLN L'. There are no OnePass numbers, save status (designated by Plat, Gold or Silver) and the remaining information, mostly numbers, are related to computer records (I think one of them is an eTKT number, one is the station number of where you checkd in, I cannot recall if they list fare class). I have never noticed any credit card or personal information on such lists.
It has been my experience that GAs will post this list near the gate (similar to Delta's TV monitors) as to give hopeful elites an idea as to their chances. Some do, some don't and sometimes I don't care enough to check -- but in any event, I have never noticed any personal information beyond the name and status.
I do not have a problem with the afore information being published (of course, to each his own) but I would be greatly concerned if any numbers relating to credit cards, address or telephones were posted on such a quasi public list.
The best solution I have seen belongs to Delta -- TV monitors that are real-time and answer all the 'dumb' questions in regards to the flight (FC, Standby, length, weather, will there be food, seat maps, etc.). Perhaps when CO flies back to the black, we'll go back to the future in a non-dizzying terminal Eish array of informative TV's positioned at hub gates.
