Yes that's the conventional wisdom but I suspect that it's short lived, as B6 and beloved partner DL eat more of their lunch on SEA transcons to New York (UA doesn't have one) and a better-connected US starts making them sweat on northwest-southwest itineraries, not to mention all the connecting traffic out of AS' California stations. And I'm betting their partnerships with AA and BA are pretty important to AS. Still, pressure would need to be applied. Otherwise their Skyteam partners (NW, DL) might start asking them to look that way instead.
