Getting AS into OW would be very welcome, to myself anyway. SEA, and the Pacfic NW in general, is something of a backwater in regards to OW connections and connections beyond the West Coast in general (affordable and direct anyway). OW services essentially end at SEA (with connections on OW metal to IAD and LHR, the two I know of), and the rest serviced by AS codeshares that earn no points, cannot be used in OW itineraries, and have rather 'un'seamless connections.

But I feel as though AS is happy with the status quo; they enjoy sleeping in both beds without getting entangled too much or angering one or the other party, reaping the benefits in the process.
