I'll second the Ihilani. But, you know there aren't that many hotels out of Waikiki. Off the top of my head, I can name five: The Ihilani, the Makaha Resort, the Pagoda Hotel, the Turtle Bay Resort and the Kahala Mandarin.

If you want to see a part of the North Shore, why not try out the Turtle Bay resort, which used to be a Hilton and was featured on the show "North Shore." A far drive from the airport, but you'll already be out there.
