Hello everyone
Just got this in my mail this morning (mail = postal service mail). I am a member of British Airways Executive Club in Denmark (seems BA have signifcantly lower requirements for us Non-US non-UK members when it comes to getting silver or gold - but that's another story).
Back to the letter from BA
On the outside it shows a picture of a Blue card (I am a Blue member) and two blue sentences:
Starting in February!
A new way to earn mileage!
Excited I open. Inside is a letter and a small guide supplement.
(in Danish but I translate)
The letter:
January 2001
From the 1st of February 2001 all fligths with British Airways counts!
And you miles are valid forever!
Dear [MyName]
You can now really look forward to the year 2001 and let us tell you why!
From the 1st of February you will earn miles on
all British Airways flights.
Blue cardholders get 50% of normal miles when flying on rebated tickets. On reservations in M class, which is our most used booking class, a 100% mileage is earned.
[my remark: I usually fly M - also rebated and therefore before I wouldn't earn ANY miles]
If the flight is taken in World Traveller Plus, our new 4th cabin in Economy on transatlantic routes, it is sure to please you that "Plus" doesn't only mean better comfort but also 10% extra miles.
But that is not all! In the future your miles will be valid forever! You can now forget everything about loosing your miles because you haven't used them for a free ticket. If you earned or used any miles for 3 years your account will, however, be closed and your miles expired.
Then the letter goes on about their website etc.
Pretty good isn't it?
