Why don't airlines offer extra large seats for purchase at a premium (but not First Class) price. That way anyone that wants (or needs) a larger seat can have one. If they are full then they will have to take another flight. To get around the potential for discrimination they could make a hard and fast rule... say 250 lbs. or more HAS to purchase a large seat. I do realize that some people could weigh less than 250 lbs. and take up more than one seat but a hard and fast rule could be applied without potential for discrimination. This tactic would fix a significant percentage of the problems...
^ Excellent idea. I'm small, but I'd definitely like discounted F. In this scenario, would at 150 lbs would I be too small to buy the F ticket at a discount? Isn't that weight discrimination?
