Sounds like you have endured most maladies of airtravel. Guess what -- the East Coast is about as bad as it gets. The good news is that PHL is a nice airport, and fewer delays than most.

US for East Coast and transcontinental is about it, with some UA flights.

You might want to think about Amtrak for NE corridor travel.
