Got my Gold Passport -- somehow
Yes, indeed. I now have an official "Hyatt Gold Passport Global Membership" card.
Others may sneer at this achievement, but I am very proud of it. After all, I managed to do it without ever asking for the card or staying at a Hyatt hotel.
Why then, you may wonder, was I so honored? In fact, I asked myself that very same question. Well, Amy Weyman, the vice president in charge of the Hyatt Gold Passport, was kind enough to tell me. Not in person, mind you, but in a letter accompanying my card.
"As a frequent AmeriSuites guest, you have been automatically enrolled in Hyatt Gold Passport."
As an extra bonus, they will give me 1000 bonus points on each of my next three stays at AmeriSuites through July 31.
I immediately started worrying about AmeriSuites. I have never been at one in my life, so if I am a frequent guest I would hate to think of what an infrequent one is.
I did, however, stay twice at a Wellesley Suites and they are part of Prime Rewards. AmeriSuites was also in the Prime Reward program until last month. I figure that as part of the divorce settlement, they got joint custody of me.
