NW first class on DC 9s is no more than glorified Y+ of UA. I was pretty surprised (and disappointed) on my first trip on a NW DC9 first class this month. The service, however, in both coach and first was excellent, as were the gate agents and the ticketing folks. The A319s were signigicantly better in first.
Also, I love their Jimmy Page beer.
