However, as a Premier Executive you get bonus miles for flying on United. Flights on other Star Alliance carriers do not always attract these bonuses.
Finally, a couple of Star Alliance carriers (Singapore Airlines is the main example) do not award miles to your mileage plus account on a few of the very cheapest coach fares they sell. All Nippon Airways award reduced mileage for most economy/coach fares (70% of the actual miles flown).
OTHER BENEFITS
As Premier Executive you have Star Alliance Gold status on all Star Alliance carriers. This means that you can always use the Business Class check-in counters on Star Alliance carriers, even if you are traveling in coach/economy.
On international flights from the US, and on all flights (even domestic flights) outside the United States, you have the right to use the lounges/clubs of all Star Alliance carriers if you are traveling on a Star Alliance flight that day. Just show the lounge reception your Premier Executive card and boarding pass.
You will also get orange PRIORITY tags placed on your bags, again regardless of the class of travel, which should mean you get your bags on the reclaim carousel before most others get theirs.
Finally, if there are operational upgrades available fue to the flight being overbooked, your status may work in your favour.
A good place to look, to see more details, if the Mileage Plus section of the United website.
Flyertalk is also around to assist with any more specific queries you have! If you have a query about earning miles on United, the best place to post the query is the United Mileage Plus forum, even if the airline you will be flying is not United (that is because the rules that say how many miles you will earn are the rules set by United, not those set by the carrier operating your flight).
Thanks for all the info and the warm welcome to Flyer Talk!! I wish I found this place years ago... I will post in the UA forum. Thanks again.
