when push comes to shove, you are milking a "friendship" you had with someone you hadn't seen in 25 years...which is not in and of itself, a big deal. However, there are much better ways to pitch a book or get sales then trying to entice the lowest common denominator.

There are many writers on FT who pitch their work all the time -= myself included - and I have never seen any of them stoop to the tactics I see on your site.

And I can't beleive I'M defending the memory of B Watson - a member who I had MANY an argument with time and time again over his snobbishness.

Meaning - I would have guessed I'd be the last person to defend someone's memory I couldn't stand...yet I am...
