I have a quick question.. I have just joined the QF FF programme and I live in the UK. I have been told by the nice folk at Qantas that they do not send out cards etc to overseas members. Has anyone else experienced this?? I kinda would like one, especially as I am flying to MIA on BA in 2 weeks!! Does it matter that I don't have a card?? I have given my number when booking the flight though.
Thanks in advance.

You don't need the card - as long as you know your number you will be fine. Always make sure that your frequent flyer number is in the booking before you travel. The best way to do this is to call up the airline before you travel. You only need a card when you move up the status rungs and obviously you will receive the upgraded card even though you are foreign domeciled.
QFF will send you a card if you pay them a fee if you feel you really need one. I think it is about $30AUD. In fact it will be couried out to you!
With BA, I suggest that you log into 'Manage my Booking' available from the ba.com website, enter your reservation number and surname and in the appropriate screen, add your Qantas Frequent Flyer number. Often when travel agent's put your frequent flyer card details into the system, it does not take hold, so it is always better to do it via the airline you are actually travelling on. Obviously doing this via the BA website carries out this action.
Enjoy your flight!
