It seems my comments have stirred a burst of responses. I just wanted to clarify a couple of things. I think what you will find is that CO is taking back those bonus miles for those registered for more than one AMERICAN EXPRESS promotion, that recieved more than one set of bonus miles from AMEX on the SAME FLIGHT.

So for those of you that earned 140K for your roundtrips to Hong Kong, you are still get to keep:

1) Your Elite Bonuses
2) Your Asia Bonus
3) Your "hub" bonus

What I'm sure Continental is doing is going back and withdrawing miles only for those people again who got multiple AMEX bonuses and they will probably let you keep one (the most lucrative) AMEX bonus.

Really folks what do you find so unreasonable about that. And some of you had the gaul to POST your bonuses for your Hong Kong trips on this board. If I was an AMEX executive, I'd ask Continental to do the same thing. As for your suggestion that Continental then go ahead and not bill AMEX for the miles and eat the miles ...they are running a business. By letting people keep one but not ALL the AMEX bonuses they are being more than reasonable since you will still end up with more mileage than if you had flown NW, UAL, or any other carrier.

I for one did "profit" from the bonus bonanza, but I feel very very very...did I say very strongly against CO "taking back" the miles. It seems that CO OP, along with their happy web site we all love, has had another embarassment in their face and like UA and the Paris fiasco has decided to make it the customers fault instead of standing up and saying "promotions dept. you guys really F---ed this one up .... let the customers have their miles, we're gonna take this out of your budget and write it off like we should" I think there was a loophole, and it got exploited. It's happened before with mileage promotions and I'm sure will happen again. We know from this board that nowdays if the promotion isn't in your "correspondance file" you ain't gonna get the bonus.... plain and simple. But to now go after members, after the bonuses have been posted for this long... hell the Vulcan post has been a staple on this board for how many months? If they wanted to shut off the bonus machine they could have a LONG time ago. It's time for CO to let things go, and "corporately" make the internal changes so it doesnt happen again. Hmmmm what was that slogan...deny.... no aint gonna go there.... yet!</font>
