I was there the day after this happened. They weren't requiring anything left for the cable, and, despite not really knowing yet what was going on, they handled it very well. At least one of the ports did not work, but the one I tried was great. if you have a t-mobile wireless account, that will work (so I returned the card unused). If not, as cphobes says, they will give you a card, no questions asked about whether one has an account.
Good on AA for remedying a situation that was not of their making ^ ^ .
