You misunderstand. It wasn't 11 miles. It was 11 miles shorter than LAX-SNA, which is 36 and GRB-ATW is 25. At the time, it was a circle trip from ORD-GRB-ATW-ORD with people getting off and getting on at every stop. Actually, I don't know if you could buy a one way on the route or not.
