AT&T is aggressively pushing its online billing (where payments are made automatically via credit card or checking account). They are pretty routinely offering $1 a month off the phone bill every month for a year to any existing AT&T customer who signs up. In ADDITION to that, however, there is a 1000 Continental miles bonus available at http://www.att.com/continental/news .

You may also want to check out a different bonus that AT&T is offering for online billing signup: A $25 Amazon gift certificate plus the $1 a month discount. In my opinion this is a few dollars more valuable than the Continental miles, but if you're a 1000 miles short of a decent reward your situation could lean you toward the miles. If you are already an AT&T customer and have already signed up for online billing, you may want to call customer service at 1-888-9ATT-WEB and demand that they retroactively provide you with the Continental points or Amazon bonus. The AT&T rep that I talked to claimed I'd get the extra bonus I requested in a few weeks, even though I was already an online billing customer (although only time will tell whether the bonus will actually arrive).
