The 'bring your own food' isn't a problem. It's just that people DON'T give the F/As their trash or garbage when they come through to collect it. Why? Why do people want to keep their trash or garbage so badly that they can't give it to the crew when they come through? Why don't businessmen give us their newspapers when they know they are going to leave it. The thing that gets me the most is when I ask "Do you want to throw your paper, or are you taking it with you?" and the person responds with "I'll take it with me"....and leaves it, why? Why not just give it to me now when I ask for it? How hard is that?
I remember when we had those dreaded Bistro Bags. No matter how many times that we would go through the cabin, it seemed like those bags just multiplied. I mean, a plane full of 120 people, and we collect 240 bistro bags. (so it seemed) It didn't matter how many times we went through after the beverage service to collect trash, people want to keep it.
Although, you do get those people that even while on the beverage cart, people try to give you their trash....that's really smart, give me your trash and I'll give you your drink...just doesn't make sense. We even get mothers hand us baby's diapers while trying to serve drinks. "Oh, here you go ma'am, no extra charge for the soiled juice in your drink"
