My experience is that "airport check-in" (i.e., getting on upgrade list, etc.) starts at midnight on the day of departure. I know that I did it on my last DFW-LGW. Does anyone have experience with it being earlier?

The four-hour threshold often cited is when the list goes into effect but the list is created much earlier.
