Stayed at the Doubletree in Tulsa last week, and even though I've been bumped back to Silver, I received the Gold level treatment -a premium room on the top floor (restricted elevator access) and use of the executive lounge which included a light continental breakfast, but no happy hour in the PM.
As a confirmed "big breakfast" eater, I'd have been happier with the option that gave me a discount coupon for a free continental or reduced price full breakfast in the dining room.
I'm guessing that my superior treatment may have been due to my previous stays, or to the "free upgrade to Gold" promotion that HH said they would take away if they found out I was not actually eligible for it. Maybe it's just those friendly Tulsa folk!
I'm always happy to visit.
