In all honesty - and my opinion may be somewhat bias - but there are bad apples in every company. I've called AC reservations a number of times, only to get a grumpy lady or man on the other line who really didn't give a damn about her or his job.
Granted, there are individuals like that at UA too, and I have spoken to some of them (and - no - I don't always call the elite line, an occasionally dial the general number), but all in all, they are doing a good job considering the situation they are in at the moment.
