Newark (one of my other favorite airports) normally too that long to get bags out and everyone complained.. yup . and guess what we got .. ZILCH!
You got your bags ... yes they messed up .. but it was not serious.
If your ride had to pay for extra parking because of the messup (EWR I normally had limo drivers pacing about the wait) .. you COULD try to send the bill into Customer Service ... thats about as much as you could/should get from American.
And if you did not get your bags .. would you want MORE miles?? If you did not get your bags for TWO FRIGGING DAYS on a business trip.. would you want a free ticket?? I bet if the LOST your bags you'd expect two free first class tickets??
