I was travelling with a companion (non-elite). We were pretty early. There was one seat left in FC so I gave the gate agent one of my Prestige Pack U/G certs (with my name on it) and she upgraded my companion on the spot.
I have had a number of experiences where I was able to upgrade my companion with my Prestige Pack certs.
Now if I could just get EUA to upgrade me!
