Since I'm in early stages of planning a trip to BsAs this thread and the main EZE thread by Gaucho100K are just what I need.

So to contribute... I went on the AR sight and pulled up the English version of their site for Argentinian residents. The AEP-IGR flight costs 580ARS, about $200. However to book the e-tik you need to be an Argentinian resident. So I proceeded along the purchase trail and eventually came to a sign in page which required a phone # and address. But then it said not valid for sales through the web site in Europe (not the more generic "outside Argentina" option). So it seems it is possible to purchase a cheap e-tik but you would have to 1) submit an "address and phone #" within Argentina or 2) provide your US info and hope they don't block the puchase because of the address. You could be an Argentinian resident but sign up with US contact info.

I didn't go any further since I don't need a ticket right now...but you may have nothing to lose by trying to book a ticket and if it boots you out, you're back where you started.

An interesting variation may be to use this site when you get to BA and use your hotel address and #. Or maybe use your hotel info from the US?

If anyone knows the ins and outs of these options, that would be greatly appreciated. Or if anyone tries one of these approaches, your results would also be appreciated.
