I hold a US passport, but I was wondering, since I have been to Indonesia three times in the past month, as a student (whereas none of these trips were "essential," they were certainly some of the greatest trips I have ever taken...gotta love Indonesian women) would I have any trouble re-entering the country? Unless your name is something like Hassan Ali and you have a long beard, the answer is no. My passport is 96 pages long and counting, I travel to Islamic countries on a regular basis (often the same one multiple times a year), and get almost zero guff from the INS when I return to the US. If you're on a long-term study trip or "gap year" walkabout, it's pretty much expected that you're going to be wandering all over the place--you're hardly the first person to do that.
