Unless your name is something like Hassan Ali and you have a long beard, the answer is no. My passport is 96 pages long and counting, I travel to Islamic countries on a regular basis (often the same one multiple times a year), and get almost zero guff from the INS when I return to the US. If you're on a long-term study trip or "gap year" walkabout, it's pretty much expected that you're going to be wandering all over the place--you're hardly the first person to do that.
