What a great idea! When we were growing up, Mom bought an ornament for each child each year...
I bought a "cigar store Indian" in Dubai a couple of years ago. It's painted wood, probably about 5' 6", reminds me of a figurehead on a ship but has a turban and a staff. I saw some for sale last week for about 4.5X what we paid (includive of shipping...the thing was about 150 lbs!
I usually try to find cufflinks and refrigerator magnets wherever we are.
