What do the 'bong' noises mean?
I have a friend flying down to MIA from BOS tomorrow morning and she is petrified of flying. Everytime she hears one of the 'bong' noises (i.e. the ones used by the captain to alert the aircrew to certain scenarios) it freaks her out thinking that something is wrong, especially if it is accompanied by the seat belt sign going on.
So, my question is, what do the different number of 'bongs' mean on AA?
i.e. after takeoff I'm certain the first 'bong' is to tell the aircrew they can now get up and start brewing coffee.
I do hope this makes sense and if anyone can help that would be really great as I could do with knowing too.
Thanks,
JC.
