Agree with you, the CArd Card Points in Australia is an absolute waste of time compared to HKG and USA.
I got waived for the first year annual fee and that is why I accepted the invitation. The only perks I got was the stay 2 nights pay for 1 @ the Mandarin Oriental. I find the Platinum was much better value.
Oh I also received the Hilton Gold the other day (well Hilton jsut send it to me so I presume it is because I am a Centurion?)
