Often I travel with audio test equipment, normally in my 20" Samsonite Rollaboard, which consists of a bunch of cables, test microphone, preamplifier, calibrator, test signal generator, sound level meter, and two laptop computers, and never have I had a problem going through security. However it almost always gets a closer search and swab down, primarily because of the shape of my
test microphone which seems to get the curiousity of the xray operator. When I explain it's a special microphone, the inspector puts it back in the case and sends me on my way. I haven't packed my homemade
Dodecahedron Speaker onto a plane, I put too many hours of construction into it for it to be mistaken for something very dangerous and thusly blown up!
