I went to Seoul for a few days in March and found the city interesting. I didn't find it bland at all.

I enjoyed the museums and the many royal palaces that are located throughout the city. Two of the Royal sites are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. I always find UNESCO sites to be worth visiting.

The people were friendly, the city was clean and modern, subway transportation was efficient and the food was good. If you don't find historical attractions to be entertaining there is always the shopping.

The trip to the city is only at the most 1.5 hours and security/immigration went quick enough.

Why sit at an airport or in a hotel room when you can go see something new in the world. Go visit one or two of the palaces. How many times are you going to find yourself in Korea? PM me if you have any questions. Happy travels.
