Suppose it's time to start thinking up the quick, logical description for my old IC-32AT; probably ought to have a new Form-660 handy, too, eh ?

Anybody else in here drag their VHF toys around the countryside ??

I am also a licensed pilot. I really like bringing my Yaesu aircraft band radio with me on trips. It rides in the computer carrying case. On the few times that the laptop giot the entire rubdown as well as its owner, they see that and have asked what it is. When I tell them it's a transmitting aircraft band radio, they really get upset. Unfortunately, when I produce the airman certificate and both of my FCC licenses, they have no real choice but to pass it through.

I was traveling with my boss one trip (he is also a pilot) and I showed him my new toy about halfway through the 5 hour flight. We got to talking about it...

"Hey, wanna find out which guy is the Federal Air Marshall?
"How are you going to do that?"
"Turn on the Yaesu, find the frequency that the plane is on with ATC, and key it up"
"And say WHAT?"
"Uh, Continental 468, this is seat two echo back behind you, we're getting knocked around back here pretty good, can you ask center for a smoother altitude for us please?"
