Okay, a little hyperbole back there, admittedly, but the DC lounge "network" is virtually nonexistent in North America and the benefit is of no value unless you're a regular overseas traveler. I've used the AMS (Menzies?) lounge also and it's just fine, but I'm not transiting AMS often enough to think DC is worth it.
