I've always been pleased with Best Western properties in Europe. It's not so much a cookie-cutter cut-rate chain as you would expect from the US version. The particular hotel I stayed at in Amsterdam is no longer a BW, apparently. Give Best Western a look at http://www.bestwestern.com/ .
