First of all I'm not even sure Carte Blanche is being actively marketed any longer. Like other DC holders I got all kinds of Carte Blanche come-ons when the card launched four or five years ago, but it's been dead quiet lately. Do they still issue them? If this board is any guide they can't have more than few thousand CB members in the US.

Second, most regular DCers laughed Carte Blanche out of court at launch for a reason. No extra Club Rewards points, no bonus thresholds, no additional airport lounge access... the only "adds" were some murky, unspecified access deal to some nice golf courses and (for awhile, anyway) a buy-one, get-one ticket deal on British Airways.

Never saw the value in CB. Of course, with recent developments I no longer see much value in DC either... but if you're determined to dump Amex I think the new, common MasterCard with a Diners Club asterisk on it is the only real alternative.
