Are they looking to upgrade their own personal set? Does the x-ray confuse them? I don't get it. I pack them very carefully to avoid damage, and they are never put back the same way. I will probably upgrade to a hard case just to make sure, but why should I spend the $200 to protect TSA from themselves? If there was damage everybody would deny it was their responsibility.
Maybe to shed some light on this subject.. I have had this happen and what I found out was that the chemicals that they use to spray on golf courses has some traces of the same chemicals that can be used to make bombs and ect.. So by manually checking them they are making sure of what is inside. I just check at the curb my clubs and that way I do not have any hassles..

I also would not travel w/out having them in a hard case as we all know that luggage gets pampered right?
