I was planning on making a reservation at the Sheraton and have no desire to go anywhere else in the area besides the park, other than sneaking over to the Brazil side, if this is a possibility.
I would say allow a full day for the Argentinian side and a half day for the Brazilian side. However, I was staying away from the falls on Brazilian side in Foz de Iguaçu so the transport arrangements will be different. Unlike cj001f I felt that, although the Argentinian side takes longer, the Brazilian side is more impressive from a viewing perspective. Either way it's a must see.

I was supposed to go on my first visit to BA in 1997. My two friends dissuaded me from going as they wanted to stay drinking in BA with the immortal words "it's just a waterfall, you look at it for 10 mins then what? Just get the postcard!"" I listened to them although it was still a good trip.
