They are very strict enforcers, especially since your first segment MUC-ZRH is probably on a regional jet (ERJ145 or Avro) with even less room for carry-on baggage. If you manage to sneak extra carry-on luggage past check-in, chances are that it will be taken away from you upon boarding the regional jet.
