In general, I think HH gives better rewards and better treatment for a Gold at the hotels. (I was SPG Gold, but didn't bother doing qualifying stays, so I'm back to PP.) But I travel to places where there are plenty of good choices in all three of the big chains. I do all of my stays at Marriott and HH, and all of my CC spending with SPG Amex. That gives me good diversity when it comes time to look for awards.
