actually, a little beknown fact is that its easier to cancel a reservation when you accidentally make a mistake but when the corporate decides to cancel the reservation, it is a lot harder to get them to honour it.
Put it this way, when you make the mistake, there really isn't any contract no matter how hardline priceline may wish to play. They play it taht way cos they don't want people to cancel but you actually can and i have done it before but you have to talk to the supervisor at least, not the operator. Just be persistent and make sure(if you can avoid) you do not give out a credit card detail that automatically allows a charge to go through for your protection.
Its a lot harder for individuals to get the company to honour something which they have withdrawn as it is trying to get the company to resell a product again.
Good luck to the affected customers and well glen, i guess i guess its one story you can share at ozfest.
cheers
